Have you been communicating your heart to God through prayers and yet to see the answers? Maybe you have prayed for too long now and it seems you are not getting any feedback from God. Does it mean God has not heard you? If He has, what could be hindering your answers?
Beloved, God's ears are not deaf that He cannot hear. Probably He has answered you, and you don't even know it. Remember the saying, "God works in mysterious ways." That's because often He does things, not the way we look forward to, but how He pleases—the same result but through different means. That could be your situation too.
In today's video, you'll learn five signs God has answered you. Before continuing, kindly subscribe to this channel if you haven't yet.
Prayer has always been the surest way that God uses to bless us, to protect us, and to deliver us from every trouble. It is a means through which we ask for what we want from Him and get our desired results. It is a medium by which we ask and receive His help. Just like the psalmist says, "I will look up to the hills—whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who created heaven and earth." It is the character of God to always hear our prayers as long as we pray in the right way and in the name of Jesus. He said this in John 14:13-14: "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. If you love me, keep my commandments." He knows the wants and requests of your heart, and He promises to answer them.
This means that whenever we pour our hearts to God in prayers, one thing is expected: a response from God, which is a sign of effective communication between God and man. Now, if He promises to answer every prayer, why hasn't He answered yours? What if He had answered but you are oblivious to this? First, you must know that to every prayer there are three major responses from God: no, wait, or yes. So the right question is, how do you know God has said yes to your prayers? What are the signs?
- The Number One Sign is the physical manifestation of your heart's desires. What have you been praying about? What do you hope God should do for you? What are your expectations from Him? Before God can answer any prayers, there must be some requests. Before you open your mouth to pray, you probably need something. There must be a need that needs to be met. Are you looking for a good job and have been praying for it? Is what you requested from God a fruit of the womb? Do you want answers regarding your financial life? What are you hoping that God should do for you? Whatever you are praying about, one of the signs to know that God has answered you is when God gives you what you asked for. Matthew 7:7-8 says, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." The only reason you will not receive answers from God is if you do not ask. The Bible says you receive nothing because you do not ask. God can't give you what you don't ask for. You can't find what you do not seek. No door can be opened to you unless you knock at it. It is as simple as that. Also, God can't answer you when you ask amiss, intending to use it for your lust, but when your prayers follow God's will, getting answers will be easy. God does that by fulfilling your heart's desires. So if the needs you asked God for have been met, this is a great sign that God actually heard you, and this is the simplest way to know that God has heard your prayers. So, have you received that job you prayed for? Has God blessed you with the fruit of the womb? Has God expanded your financial status? If God has done it, then congratulations on the answered prayers.
- The Number Two Sign that shows that God has heard your prayers is personal transformation. Has your relationship with God been very weak? Do people know you for your bad character, anger issues, addiction, immoral acts, and the like? But suddenly you begin to observe a change in character, a decreased passion for those acts, and you begin to wonder what's happening? Beloved, it is God working in your life. It is a huge transformation happening in your life. God needed to work in you to prepare you for the real manifestation of the answers to your prayers. Do you know you could be lacking the answers to your prayers if God, in His mercy, had seen this and decided to begin working from there so you can receive what you've been praying for? It's time to rejoice because after this transformation process comes your miracles. You might be praying for and expecting a million-dollar contract, but God sees that your anger issue will make you talk inappropriately to the humble man designated to award you the contract and decide to address that first. You may be asking for a spouse, but God sees how unprepared you are, plus your unfaithfulness in little things. How then do you expect Him to commit the lives of another soul and that of His glorious children into your care? You becoming better in your behaviours and becoming more like Jesus in deeds, character, and relations with others is a marvellous thing God is doing for you. In fact, it's an additional answer to your real prayer. Another thing you do not know is that thriving in the place of prayers brings a great transformation to our souls, and we become more like God. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." What other blessings or answers are greater than this? What material possession or physical breakthrough can be more than being transformed into the image of God and having your name on the list of those going to heaven? Through prayers, a sinner can be born again. A notorious criminal can be changed and become a genuine believer. A wayward child can become obedient, and an angry person can become easygoing. Whenever you see such beautiful manifestations of people turning from their old selves and habits into new and positive ones, it is a sign of the working power of God in response to our prayers.
- The Number Three Sign that God has heard your prayers is joy in the spirit. Joy brings freedom, miracles, transformation, and deliverance. If you're experiencing that joy now in your spirit, God has heard you because where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. When you sense joy in your spirit even amid your many struggles, God has answered your prayers. The Bible says in Psalm 126:5-6, "Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them." This verse implies that the time invested in praying and seeking God's face is not wasted. If you have been trusting God for divine healing, promotion at work, and marital success, and you feel joyful after praying, then you must note that God has answered your petitions. The Bible talks about the fruits of the spirit in which joy is included. Your joy only confirms what God has perfected in your life. Whenever you feel joyful after prayers, it's an assurance that answers are already coming for you. Paul and Silas modelled a great example in this case. Despite facing a challenge in prison, both were praying and singing hymns to God with other prisoners listening to them. God saw the state of their hearts, their prayers reached heaven, and there was an immediate response. Suddenly there was a violent earthquake that shook the foundation of the prison, and all the prison doors flew open, and everyone's chains were loosed. This is the same thing that will happen when you are joyful in your spirit after you pray. It is a great sign of a speedy response from heaven.
- The Number Four Sign that God has heard your prayers is your confidence in God. 1 John 5:14-15 says, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him." That you possess a sense of confidence in the place of prayers is a great sign that God has heard you. It takes great confidence to believe you have what you asked for even when it is yet to be delivered. This confidence makes you believe that you have received whatever you prayed for and that there is no doubt in you. With the help of the Holy Spirit, you have the assurance that God has done it, as the Holy Spirit confirms it within your heart. God does give us confidence through the Holy Spirit to tell us that our petitions to Him have been heard. It is to ensure that you do not need to worry because He is working on it already. Confidence is proof that God never fails. It is a spiritual confirmation of the ability of God. So your confidence is a confirmation of an answered prayer. Therefore, expect your request with joy. Believe that you have received it. Believe with the whole of your heart that it is done. Another thing you must take note of is that the Bible says that God will do anything you ask according to His will. It is the will of God that you will be financially blessed. It is His will that you will procreate, replenish, and subdue the earth. It is God's will for you to be healthy—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
It is His will that you will advance in all areas, live peacefully with your enemies, and live a long life and fulfill your days. So, when you pray for any of these things, believe you will receive what you have prayed for.
- The fifth sign is peace of mind. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and one of the ways that show His presence in us is when His peace abides in our hearts. You might have been having a hard time in your life—maybe you are troubled, frustrated, and don’t know what to do. But when you have a deep sense of peace after prayers and the burden lightens, it’s a sign God has begun working on your request. It implies He has answered your prayers.
The Bible says in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." The peace of God is a confirmation of an answered prayer. What you are feeling now is not ordinary; it is a clue that God has given His response to you. So whenever you are praying for a particular intention, you should listen attentively to the movements of God in your soul. God can try to speak to you through His peace, confirming in your heart that He has heard you. Never doubt it; just be still and watch God perfect what He has started in your life.
When you see any of these signs, I congratulate you because God has answered you. He has given ears to your prayers. All you need to do is rejoice, be thankful for what He is doing behind the scenes, and expect your testimonies to appear very soon. If you aren’t seeing any of them, it doesn’t mean God hasn’t or wouldn’t hear your prayers. If He has promised to answer everything we ask in His name, yours isn’t an exception.
I may not have an explanation for what is happening because there is a limit to what the human mind can capture in the spirit realm. But one thing is sure: God is not dead nor deaf. His timing is simply not the same as yours. His ways have never been our ways. He knows when to send you your answers. His words are true, and He fulfils every word spoken from His mouth or in the scriptures. The Bible says instead of the word that He has spoken to His children not coming to pass, heavens and earth will pass away. This assurance alone should comfort you.
Do you really understand what that means? That is, rather than God fail you, He would rather wipe off the heaven and the earth. What a powerful God! That also shows how much you mean to Him. So be at peace within you and stand firm in faith.
Let us pray:
Thank you, Lord, because You have heard me before I spoke. Thank you, Lord, because You answered me before I opened my mouth to pray. Your words say those who trust You will never be ashamed, and those who call upon Your name will be delivered. Your ears are not deaf that You cannot hear, nor are Your eyes blind that You cannot see my broken state. As I bow before Your holy name, I ask that You deliver me from all my troubles. Let every one of my petitions to You be attended to. I acknowledge that I find it hard to believe You've heard me since I can’t see the physical manifestations of my prayers. I therefore ask that You show me a confirmation that You have heard me. Help my unbelief, Lord. Help me to keep holding on in faith. You said in Your words that we should delight in You. I pray that for every good thing my heart desires from You, You will do it for me. Let every one of my needs be met. I ask that Your power will transform my life. Let every control of addiction cease over my life. I ask for a divine transformation that will enable me to become the likeness of what You want me to be. Help me, Lord, to completely abstain from ungodly behaviours and let my life become one that pleases You and glorifies You all the days of my life. I ask that Your peace that passes all understanding will work in my life. I receive divine confidence to trust in the finished work You have perfected for me on the cross of Calvary. In all circumstances, help me to be joyful and trust in Your supernatural power to calm every storm that comes my way. I decree that let every storm be still, let every wind be silenced. I ask that I will be blessed in the land. My going out and my coming in is blessed. I pray that whatsoever is hindering my prayers be cleared away in the name of Jesus. I declare and proclaim my confidence in You. I receive divine healing for my spirit, soul, and body. I decree that whatever I ask according to Your will is given to me. I will not lack any good things. I ask that Your joy will fill my heart. I’ll find rest and peace for my troubled soul. In Your word, You said that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, shall teach us all things and bring unto our remembrance everything You have said. I ask that Your Holy Spirit will teach me to pray so that I may pray according to Your will for my life. I ask that by the Holy Spirit, I'll receive grace to trust in You completely. I stand against every power and force in the air that might either delay my answers or prevent them from getting to me. I pray those forces will bow to the name of Jesus. Thank you, Lord, for everything. I am grateful because I do not lack anymore, for the Lord will provide for all my needs according to His riches in glory. Because I know God, I shall be strong and do exploits. So shall it be for me. Thank you, Lord, because You have answered my prayers. For in Jesus' name, I have prayed, amen.
